What CashShield does
CashShield is a Shopify app that lets merchants control whether Cash on Delivery appears at checkout by evaluating rule data stored in Shopify.
Data we process
CashShield processes configuration data that merchants create inside the app, such as rule names, priorities, postal-code lists, country rules, customer-tag checks, and product-tag checks. At checkout, Shopify executes the app's payment customization function using Shopify-provided cart context.
Customer data handling
CashShield does not maintain an external customer database. Customer and cart context used by the Shopify Function is supplied by Shopify at runtime and is evaluated only to determine whether COD should be shown, hidden, renamed, or reordered.
Storage
CashShield stores its rule configuration in app-owned Shopify metafields/payment customization records. Authentication session data may be stored in the hosting platform's session layer for app operation.
Sharing
CashShield does not sell merchant or customer data. Data is only shared with infrastructure providers required to operate the app, such as Shopify and the hosting platform.
Retention
App configuration remains in Shopify until the merchant deletes it or uninstalls the app. Uninstalling the app removes app-owned Shopify data according to Shopify platform behavior.
